Just last weekend the game’s developers implemented a new War mode that pitted three squads of ten players against each other. This new mode only lasted for the weekend, but PUBG Corp appears to have several other additions in the works that will help keep the game’s community energi

And finally, for you developers out there, Bluehole is working on a PUBG Developer Portal and API that will allow developers to create “compelling resources for players.” The API will include match data at the match-level, season-level and lifetime-level, allowing developers to create custom games within PUBG itself. This in hopes that it will help eSports groups create and manage games for broadcast.

That’s not the only good news because according to a tweet by Skin-Tracker, data mining for the new update reveals that new weapon attachments are incoming. New 3x and 6x scopes will be coming, in addition to a Duckbill attachment for shotguns which will increase their horizontal spread. That said, since the developers themselves haven’t confirmed these new additions, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt for

PlayerUnknown also wants to get Battlegrounds onto the eSports scene, but isn’t ready yet. They are in the process of developing systems for broadcasters to use for better match coverage and want to work on it more before letting people use it. The data analytics team at Bluehole is working to improve the ranking and player performance data to make sure they are ready to get into the eSports world as well.

Today, PUBG Corp posted another update in the news section of the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Steam page. Titled “Inspirations of Codename: Savage – Volume II,” the post describes the developer’s plans for the game’s Savage map going forward. They lead off the post by stating their plans to regularly update the map going forward; stating that “we have months of work left to do.” Most importantly, this update both describes and shows what will become the Savage map’s defining feature: an underground cave sys

This smaller map is apparently an effort by developers to make PUBG updates faster paced. The game’s attempt at world domination stepped up a notch recently with the release of PUBG Mobile for iOS and Android. While the graphical quality and controls obviously took something of a hit, the game runs surprisingly well on mobile and drawn yet more players into PlayerUnknown’s Battleground web. Clothing can be used to assist the player to blend in with the environment, making the player less visually detectable. Exciting though they may be, they will take time to implement; time PUBG really doesn’t need to lose to its biggest competitor, Fortnite . Still, changes and additions like this will go a long way towards keeping PUBG relevant and further defining its distinct take on the genre it launched into gaming’s mainstream consciousn
